God often speaks to people or calls them to something that doesn’t make sense. It may scare them to death because its not within their means or resources. God just say follow me and trust me.

God spoke to Abraham and drew him out of his comfort zone. When Abraham said yes, he saw God in every aspect of his life and then he began to live life to the fullest.

Moses was a murderer on the run in the wilderness. God called him out and began to reveal to him the plans and purpose He had for him. Moses argued with God about his qualifications. He put up a fight, and argued about his ability! When he finally surrendered and said yes, miracles happened. He put his faith in a God who called him and stepped out.

"Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God." -Exodus 3:1 NIV 

1.) Is there something I know God‘s been asking me to do?
2.) When’s the last time I asked God, “Is there anything you’d like me to say yes to?”

Pray life-changing prayers. What are life-changing prayers? "Lord, here is my life and all I hope and dream to be, what would you like me to do?"

Luke 5:1-11 NIV
"One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him."

How to Say Yes:

1.) Listen

Simon said YES because he was listening.

Tips to Listen & Drawing Near to God:
A. Worship for five minutes
B. Talk to God for five minutes
C. Read the Bible 10 minutes

2.) Choose

Simon was given a choice.

Throughout scripture, we read many stories of people who said yes. Here’s what happened BECAUSE they said yes -
Abraham started a nation.
Moses freed a nation from slavery.
Joshua lead a nation into the promised land.
The Disciples created a nation of prophets and priests and kings, a holy nation.
Peter built the church.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Psalm 1:1-3 NIV
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers."

Following God doesn't always make sense. But saying yes to Him leads us to blessing, providence, fearlessness, peace, purpose, and productivity.

Ephesians 3:20 NIV
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,"
