"because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” -Luke 1:78-79 (NIV)
Am I full of peace? Am I full of rest? If not, Jesus says, "Come to Me"
When we follow Christ, we will find rest.
In this passage, Jesus is saying, "if you want peace, put on my yoke." What can "putting on a yoke" do?
• One ox can pull 8000 pounds
• Two ox bridled together can pull 26,000 pounds
What does the representation of a yoke look like in relationship to our christian walk?
1.) A yoke is a learning tool.
- Take my yoke upon you and learn from me
2.) A yoke distributes the burden equally.
- For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
3.) It's as simple as believing.
"They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?” -John 6:28 (NLT)
"To that they said, "Well, what do we do then to get in on God's works?" -John 6:28 (MSG)
"Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” -John 6:29 (NLT)
